Service-learning funds are still available

If you are interested in making the water you drink cleaner and the watershed you live in healthier, you may be interested in Project FLOW–Future Leaders of Watersheds Service-learning grant program.  Community organizations can apply to receive up to $15,000 or $35,000 to engage youth in improving their community.

Past service-learning projects have been rain gardens, native seek collection and dispersal, stream monitoring, recycling programs, trail development, community education campaigns, beautification art mural projects, and more.  Check out this link for the Request for Proposals.  Learn and Serve America has made funds available to West Virginia communities through the West Virginia Commission for National and Community Service (the Commission).

Proposals are due November 5, 2008 at 5pm.  Don’t be late!

Oh, there are other grants available from the Commission.  So be sure to click here if you are interested.
