Project Flow- Wyoming County

Hi, I am an 11 year old participant of Project Flow in Wyoming County. I have had fun going to meetings talking and learning about watersheds. One thing about watersheds we have learned is the things that are in a watershed. Some things that are in a watershed are rivers, plants, and animals. Mostly living things are in a watershed.

We have talked about the pollution in the rivers in Mullins, WV aound our area. We once played a game that involves being a part of the watershed. Some people were the business, the media, the sewage treatment plant, the farmer, the river, the trashy house, the sewage house, and the trash treatment plant. We were the community and the watershed. If the river did not get cleaned up or the people did not get enough things they need to survive, they would just die.

We have just recently got penpals from Houston, Texas. The last meeting we went to we got to see the letters they wrote to us. Then we got to write letters to them answering their questions and telling them what we have done. I have taken pictures about what a watershed looks like. I have taken pictures about the rivers, and the pollution in them.

I also had a fun time making a T-shirt design about the watershed pollution. I did mine on the computer because I can’t really draw on paper with pencil very well. On the T-shirt I put a picture with the trees and some flowers showing the natural setting of a watershed. And I put words like 4-H Watershed Don’t Pollute!!!! Save The environment as been really fun talking and learning about watersheds and hope that we keep talking about them and also hope that other people will stop polluting and save the environment.
