Piney Creek Boy Scouts

In the past couple of months Piney Creek Watershed Association’s Boy Scout FLOW Group has been very active.  They have done a stream clean up where they rafted and duckied down the new river picking up trash while they went.  They have also been lucky enough to have at least one member at every major event that Piney Creek Watershed Association’s FLOW Program.  Garrett Lester has gone to the Mountain Institute to learn about stream monitoring and had a wonderful time.  Then this past week Garrett Lester and Ricky Hill both attended the Learn and Serve Conference at Blackwater Falls.

The duckie trip sounds like a lot of fun! The Preston High School Health Science and Technology group has been struggling to think of a fun and educational trip. I think a canoe trip down the Cheat Narrows would be perfect. We could pick up trash, fish, and sample streams along the way. Hopefully we will have some water back this spring!
