The feds are using social media! Learn and Serve America has its own facebook page and YouTube. I took a quick look at the YouTube videos. Many of the short videos are about Learn and Serve’s grantees and their impact on local communities. Peter Bender of Tuff’s University also shares some light on service-learning research. I find the video about Asoka’s Youth Venture particularly interesting.
If you still are not thrilled check out a couple of local videos. Cacapon Institute has a set of videos and Save Our Streams staffer Tim Cradock has started a collection as well but on Vimeo. I am sure there are other great video’s out there… Where is yours?
Project FLOW–Future Leaders of Watershed grantees have a youth challenge to “Proclaim their Fame” through video or the written word. I am hoping to see some videos being made about their service-learning projects. The videos or essays are due December 9th. Stay tuned for the good stories!
And in the meanwhile, develop some good service stories or video’s of your own to share here on VolunteerWVBlog.
